Then Daddy Prayed

Mama told us the exciting news.

Another sibling was on its way.

Our family was so excited

As we planned for that future day

Then Mama became sick

Needing extra special care.

So, to a cabin by a lake we went

For some family time there

Mama became sick and could not move.

Seeing her helpless filled us with fears.

We did all we could to help

While trying to hold back our tears.

While Mama was in the hospital

We knew not to despair,

For God had some nice doctors

And nurses giving her tender care.

Then back at home one night

They asked if we had been afraid.

After a moment, we answered them,

“Yes, but then Daddy prayed.”
